Richard Wolf UK Ltd. has announced the Vipaq TVP-5, an ultracompact videoscope for use with standard monitors or PCs. The CCD-based endoscope has standard fiber optic lighting, an S-video output and a USB2 interface. It is supplied with an XP-compatible software program. The image management program can switch between NTSC and PAL signals to capture still images. It has a 4.7-mm diameter and is available in lengths of either 800 or 1400 mm. Field of view is 115°, focal range is >10 mm, and tip angulation is 180° up and 130° down. Tip bending radius is ∼13 mm, and the bending radius of the flexible insertion tube is ∼27 mm. Operating temperature is from 0 to 70 °C.
