The Imaging Solutions Group of New York Inc. has added a five-megapixel model to its LightWise family of smart cameras. Available in color and monochrome versions, the modular LW-5-S-1394 is controlled via a FireWire interface, which includes a fully programmable image processing pipeline and a dynamic range/gamma control look-up table for any desired response code. It features an integrated image buffer, a wide range of triggering and strobe control capabilities, driver software and a user’s manual. It can be programmed with customer-supplied algorithms inside the integrated field-programmable gate array. According to the company, the monochrome version is particularly applicable within the machine vision market, while the color model is employed in printed circuit board inspection and in microscopy.
