Deposition Sciences Inc. has developed special tooling and processes that enable coating the outside of tubes with durable and precision optical filters. The company, which coats filters from the near-UV to the IR regions, can coat tubes up to 45 cm in length and with up to 7 cm nominal outside diameter. The rugged filter coatings are designed to withstand extreme heat, temperature fluctuations and high humidity. Coated tubes are employed to trim the spectral output of light sources in applications such as sunlight simulation (space-based and terrestrial), heat control, night vision and narrowband wavelength rejection for process monitoring.
