CHIP-LED
Seoul Semiconductor has launched a patent-pending 0.17-mm-thick chip-LED that it says produces more than twice the brightness of existing models. The WH108 measures 1.6 × 0.8 × 0.17 mm and is 15% thinner than the 0.2-mm-thick existing version. It delivers a luminous intensity of 240 mcd at a current of 5 mA. Its enhanced thermal characteristics enable it to withstand and perform reliably in demanding applications such as inner lighting in refrigerators, reading lamps in automobiles, endoscope illumination and automobile dashboard lighting. Other applications include cell phone keypad modules and touch pads.
