Introduced by Lumenera Corp., the InfinityX-32 is a CCD microscopy camera with pixel-shifting technology and up to 32-megapixel resolution. Designed for use in the clinical, life and materials sciences fields, the camera is based on a Sony progressive-scan 2-megapixel sensor that has 4.4-μm square pixels in a 1616 × 1216 array. Patented DeltaVu technology captures still mages at user-selectable resolutions, maximizing the resolving power of the microscope optics. Live video provides real-time focus, while automatic exposure and white balance deliver high-quality images, and a USB 2.0 digital interface enables plug-and-play installation. The camera is available in color and monochrome models and is supplied with proprietary Infinity Analyze software that includes functions for image enhancement, measurement, annotation, archiving and processing. Digital output is selectable at 8 and 12 bits uncompressed.
