LMI Technologies Inc. has developed FireSync, a modular vision sensor platform of integrated OEM hardware and software components for microsecond synchronization of lighting, camera, sensor controllers, embedded sensors, software and industrial computers. The components can be configured in a variety of ways, depending upon the application. The sensor controller uses high-speed chip sets to offer images from up to four CMOS camera channels and to stream data at rates of up to 320 MB/s. The system supports preprocessing, digital signal processing algorithms and Gigabit Ethernet networking. The high-speed CMOS cameras produce VGA to megapixel resolution, and the pulsed laser and LED sources provide maximum lumen output at low duty cycles.
