Master Bond Inc. offers a one-component, optically clear polymer that is curable by UV light and/or heat. When exposed to UV light of adequate wavelength and intensity, it cures quickly to produce durable, tough, nonyellowing and chemically resistant adhesives, sealants and coatings with suitable electrical insulation properties. The UV15-7DC is 100 percent reactive and not inhibited by air. It contains no solvents or other volatile substances. Typical cure times range from 5 s to 2 to 3 min at ambient temperatures. Typical heat-curing schedules are 10 to 30 min at 250 to 260 °F. Suitable for use in applications with “shadowed-out areas,” it has a Shore D hardness of >70, an elongation of 65 to 75 percent, and a tensile strength of 5460 psi.
