Mersive Technologies has launched the Sol Server 1.2, a camera-based solution that cuts alignment time in half for multiprojector ultradefinition displays. Its SolTilt feature is a robotic platform that enables capture of images from multiple vantage points. The Sol Server interface lets users preview and record pan/tilt positions that are then automatically recalled during alignment. SolAlign adjusts the orientation of a scene for alignment to a desired location/orientation. SolMask lets users digitally block data from reaching a projection area, and SolBlend supports overlap regions on multifaceted displays such as octagons and decagons. The system provides correction of the geometric distortion, intensity and color variations that result from using multiple overlapping projectors.
