The Mini Delta Ribbon (MDR) base configuration digital camera cables have been introduced by 3M Electronic Solutions Div. to connect the camera and frame grabber in machine vision applications. The cables mate to standard MDR 26-position camera connections and also can be used in other LVDS applications. They are available in three versions. The standard one has straight exit thumbscrew backshells for male-male cable assembly; the extension or bulkhead version for male-female assembly enables extension applications or connects to a bulkhead panel for feedthrough; and the right-angle cable exit version for male-male assembly has an overmolded right-angle cable drop for use in applications where space is limited.
