Laser Photonics LLC has introduced the Titan FLS 48, a high-power fiber laser system that cuts metals without causing deformation or burned edges. It features a 2000-W continuous-wave ytterbium fiber laser that is upgradable to 5000 W, a Class 1 safety enclosure and a direct-drive motion control platform. It has a small heat-affected zone and does not require optical system alignment, laser service or laser replacement parts. It features a proprietary single-pallet shuttle system for loading and unloading materials. Mean time between failure is 50,000 to 100,000 h, electrical power efficiency is up to 50%, M² beam quality is <1.15, and maximum modulation frequency is 10 kHz. X-Y orthogonality is software-controlled, and polarization is random. The system is water-cooled.
