Elk Industries LLC has released its blue laser combination crystal, which produces single-longitudinal-mode radiation at 473 nm. Without requiring difficult or time-consuming alignment and mounting, it allows the user to convert 808-nm laser diode output at only 1 to 2 W of power directly into 473-nm laser light by focusing the output onto the entrance face of the blue laser core. A highly collimated blue laser beam exits from the opposite side of the device. TEM₀₀ beam diameter is <0.5 mm, beam divergence is <3 mrad, and average beam pointing stability is <30 μrad. Operating temperature is from –10 to 70 °C, and shock tolerance is >15 g.
