For plug-and-play connection to its ALS series airborne lidar systems, Leica Geosystems Inc. has designed a medium-format 39-megapixel digital aerial camera system. The RCD105 is fully compliant with all applicable airborne environmental specifications, including temperature, shock, vibration, and electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. A single controller records data from two camera heads for simultaneous acquisition of natural color and false-color infrared images. The system produces smear-free sharp images at fast shutter speeds.
