Thomas F. Laurin, executive vice president of Laurin Publishing, has announced the appointment of Diane M. Laurin as group publisher for the company’s global print magazines.
Prior to joining the publishing company, Laurin was vice president of public relations for Winstanley Associates, an advertising/marketing communications firm in Lenox, Mass.

As group publisher, Laurin will be responsible for the editorial development, planning and strategic vision for the company’s print magazines, which cover photonics technology worldwide.
In addition, Penny Pretty has been promoted from European accounts manager to associate publisher of EuroPhotonics. Pretty, who has resided on the Continent for many years, speaks six languages and has a background in advertising and marketing.

In her new position, she will lead the European editorial team in launching a new brand and voice for EuroPhotonics and in expanding the magazine’s reach and influence overseas. She also will be guiding the European sales team, creating marketing strategies and incentives for existing and prospective clients.
