Kaiser Systems said its new XLS line of capacitor-charging power supplies is a modular approach to custom-designed power supplies.
The modular subassemblies use proven product technology for multiple configurations and decrease lead times, Kaiser Systems said, because design and development is already accomplished with each module.
A unique benefit of the XLS is its ability to protect itself from unpredictable operating conditions. The XLS detects when it is connected to a low or high mains voltage source and automatically adjusts its output power based on the input source. The XLS also protects itself from external load and line faults, which can damage conventional power supply designs.
The XLS line is available with charging rates from 1000 to 4000 J/s at voltages of 250 to 4000 V. It meets EN60601-1 and EN60950 safety approvals, and leakage current is less than 300 µA for medical applications. In addition, the XLS has been certified with the TUV CUE mark and has been tested for US, Canadian and European safety standards. Specific models have conducted emissions below Class A limits and require no additional filtering.
