With advancement in imaging and optical technologies mandating the need for higher resolution targets, Applied Image Inc. has designed the QA-77 enhanced digital camera resolution chart .

The QA-77 chart is based on the ISO-12233 specifications but has extended resolution ranges and more usable features, including a resolution range from 100 to 4000 lw/ph (line widths per picture height) on the central hyperbolic wedges, and to 2000 lw/ph on the corner wedges. This is twice the resolution performance specified in the ISO-12233 standard. Added features include: star targets (Siemans sector target); short line-pair series (square wave sweep) and slanted short line-pair series; 5° slant bar; and 5° dark gray square, for SFR (MTF) measurement.

The QA-77 target is available in three sizes: 1/2X (200 mm x 356 mm overall size); 1X (100 mm x 178 mm overall size) and 2X (400 mm x 711 mm overall size).
