Pulsed Laser Wavelength Meter
Bristol Instruments
CLEO/QELS 2007
The 821-series pulsed laser wavelength meter from Bristol Instruments provides accurate and reliable wavelength information for scientists and engineers who need to know the exact wavelength of a pulsed laser or optical parametric oscillator (OPO) system. The model 821B-VIS measures absolute laser wavelength to an accuracy of ± 0.02 cm-1 over the wavelength range of 350 to 1100 nm.
An unprecedented level of reliability is achieved with a unique Fizeau interferometer-based design and automatic calibration with a built-in wavelength standard. The benefit to you is greater confidence in your experimental results. The model 821 is also easy to operate. The laser under test enters the system through a free-space aperture, so there are no detrimental effects typically associated with pulsed lasers and fiber input.
A visible tracer beam exits the input aperture to facilitate alignment. Automatic pulse detection triggers data collection for asynchronous operation. With a measurement rate of 200 Hz, the 821 system can measure the wavelength of every pulse from most lasers. And, with a minimum input energy requirement of only 1 uJ coupled with a convenient high-speed USB interface, it is straightforward to integrate the model 821 into an experiment for automatic wavelength reporting and control.
