Optoway Technology Inc., a maker of integrated optoelectronic components and modules for fiber optic communication, has announced its 4G WDM SFP transceiver module for up to 80-km transmission. The module is designed for 4/2/1 GBd Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE single-fiber communications. It's Hot-Pluggable SFP footprint optical transceiver (SFP MSA) is compatible and compliant with Fibre Channel FC-PI 400/200/100-SM-LC-L. Digital diagnostic functions are also available via an I2C.
The SPB-8880LW-1510G/SPB-8880LW-1590G SFP transceiver module reaches 80 km at 4G. This module is designed for single-mode fiber, and a guaranteed minimum optical link budget of 28 dB is offered. The transmitter section uses a multiple quantum well 1510/1590-nm DFB laser and is Class 1 laser-compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC 60825. The receiver section is designed to receive 1590/1510-nm signals. The receiver section uses an integrated 1590/1510-nm detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC. A PECL logic interface simplifies interface to external circuitry.
