G-S Plastic Optics recently opened an in-house coating facility featuring a precision optical coating system built by Vacuum Process Technology, Inc. (VPT). Many of the optics that are molded by G-S require reflection coatings such as gold, silver or aluminum or an antireflective coating. It will focus on providing vacuum-deposited coatings on polymer substrates such as PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate), styrene, polycarbonate, Zeonex, Zeonor and Topas.
