The TRSS Imager II system employs seismic, acoustic, magnetic and passive-infrared sensor modes to detect targets for imaging. Images are captured and automatically selected for transmission based on ‘best image’ criteria. Selectable compression ratios, transmission rates and

encryption securely transfer high quality images in near real time.
The system’s electro-optical and infrared cameras can be remotely triggered via REMBASS, TRSS or other legacy sensors. The imager can also be programmed prior to deployment to autonomously capture imagery, or be remotely commanded to enter capture mode, post-emplacement, via the TRSS handheld programmer monitor (HHPM).
The TRSS imager is interoperable with existing sensor communications devices. The RICC’s communications range can be significantly extended by using one or more RT-1847 radio repeaters, also from Nova. Imagery recovery up to 45 km with low latency has been demonstrated.
