Gamma Scientific said its GS-940-7X Robotic display-measurement goniometer is revolutionizing angular measurement of large-area CRT, LCD and plasma screens.
While conventional goniometric measurement assemblies continually rotate the display to perform angular measurements -- an impractical approach, considering the massive size of today's displays -- the GS-940-7X keeps the display stationary while its six-axis robotic arm/detector combination measures the screen from a multitude of user-specified angles.
The company said the GS-940-7X is priced significantly less than competing systems, boosts throughput with blazing-fast measurement speeds, has a significantly smaller footprint than competing systems and tests multiple displays simultaneously, enabling it to service multiple production lines concurrently.
The GS-940-7X provides exacting 0.01-degree accuracy with multiple fields of view: 5°, 2°, 1°, 0.5°, 0.33° and 0.1°; tests all display technologies; and is built tough for 24/7 production environments. It is also easy to set up and operate; a single user can perform a comprehensive measurement in minutes. An electronic eyepiece superimposes a field-of-view-sized spot on the display area being measured, and the system automatically compensates for imperfections in hemispherical positioning of display.
Powerful report generation software is included. A compact and mobile system, the GS-940-7X can easily be shared between production facilities, production lines and laboratories.
