The Xtellus 2x1 Micro WASS (wavelength-selective switch) provides systems designers with a powerful tool to create flexible, wavelength-agile optical networks that can be remotely configured. It is optimized to fulfill the needs of 2-degree ROADM nodes with an ability to accept DWDM traffic from an input port and add port, to select which wavelengths to route to a common output port, and to equalize the output wavelengths. It can also be operated in the reverse direction, with a single input distributing wavelengths to two outputs.
The 2x1 MicroWSS offers uncompromising optical performance characterized by wide, flat-top passbands, low insertion loss and PDL, low dispersion and high extinction. The 2x1 MicroWSS is dark at power-off, eliminated the need for an external shutter. Optimized for metro edge optical networking equipment, it is packaged in a compact module that will fit into a single line card slot.
