RSoft Design Group, a developer of photonics design automation software, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its award-winning optical communication system design tool by announcing the release of OptSim 5.0. The new version will include new advanced features to model next-generation optical networks, focusing on maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) decoding, electronic dispersion compensation (EDC) equalization, bidirectional transmission and advanced modulation formats such as D(Q)PSK and OFDM.
