The Nanona ultrafast and low-loss optical switch from Boston Applied Technologies Inc. (BATi) redirects the optical signal from one channel to another at speeds faster than 50 ns.
The Nanona switch is a solid-state switch operating in free-space architecture. It has lower optical insertion loss (<1 dB), much faster speed and more reliable switching compared to competing optical switching technologies.

The switches provide solutions to managing fiber optic connections, monitoring optical performance and sharing vital resources for a wide variety of applications in the telecommunication, defense and government, medical and biotechnology, and instrumentation industries.
The Nanona switch is the newest addition to BATi’s Eclipse, Acrobat and Equinox product portfolio -- such as optical VOAs, polarization controllers and tunable filters -- for telecommunications and instrumentation markets.
