IPtronics' low-power, four-channel VCSEL driver and transimpedance amplifier features the lowest power in the industry for optical parallel transmission modules and active cables.

IPtronics silicon already enables module manufacturers in Japan, US and Europe solutions for dissipating less than 8 mW Gb/s (for a transceiver solution), running at up to 12.5 Gb/s per channel.
 
The chipset from IPtronics will enable module manufactures to compete with existing solutions on power dissipation and parameters, with power savings of a factor of 10 compared to copper link systems. Compared to existing optical links, system manufacturers can expect 4 to 5 times lower power consumption than currently available modules.
