reflection grating

A diffraction grating ruled on a reflecting surface that reflects light and forms spectra.

One of the most widely used gratings, featuring a surface that is usually coated with a layer of aluminum, silver, gold or other metals, or a multilayer dielectric high-reflective coating, for reflection. With a wide spectral band and only one reflective surface that results in low light scattering and straying effects, this type of grating is ideal for use in spectrometers.
