Dear Community,

We would realy like to know how much light-energy (from white LEDS) over time would/will damage our eyes.

We work in our laboratoy with the newest types of LEDs and controlers for these LEDs, and whatever precautions one might take, it happens every week that one of ours get a direct exposure of intense white-led light-energy into his face and eyes. With sun-glasses we cant see the electronics, and without the glasses we get exposed time and time again . Is there anyone that has reference stories, test-results or anything that can tell us something about how dangerous this phenomenon is?

The thing is, after working with LEDs over a period of 6 months, the result is that I personally can not see that well in the dark anymore, and one of my eyes seem to have problems getting the same contrast as the other eye. What is this?

I hope someone can give us some information about light-exposure to eyes and expected damages.

Kind regards,

Ronald

Dude, you have your self a serious problem. I strongly suggest you buy a copy of the ANSI spec for handeling lasers and follow it to the letter. If you wish more info. we can respond directly
