High-Performance Cooled IR Cameras High-Performance Cooled IR Cameras

Sofradir-EC has introduced a range of high-performance infrared cameras that cover the spectral band 1-to-12 microns. The SSC IR Cameras feature variable frame rate and integration time, less than 20mK sensitivity (typical), powerful desktop software, IR lenses and programmable trigger functions.

VersaChromeTM Tunable Bandpass Filters VersaChromeTM Tunable Bandpass Filters

Semrock has broken new ground with the release of five VersaChrome tunable bandpass filters. These filters offer wavelength tunability over a very wide range of wavelengths by adjusting the angle of incidence, with essentially no change in spectral performance.

Rotor Drive Shutter Controller Rotor Drive Shutter Controller

CVI Melles Griot Rotor Drive Shutter Controller provides actuation signals to Rotor Drive shutters locally, through manual push button, or remotely, through TTL signal. The Rotor Drive Shutter controller is supplied with the adaptor cable to allow connecting the controller to any Rotor Drive shutter. The unit is powered by the 12 V power supply available separately.

Passively Cooled High-Power Pump Diodes Passively Cooled High-Power Pump Diodes

Coherent recently introduced a "rainbow" version of its G-stack series of conduction-cooled laser arrays offering multiple wavelength options for temperature insensitive pumping. These rainbow stacks can be custom configured and are available in power levels up to 3 kW and more. Applications include pumping of military target designator and range finder lasers.

High-Resolution Tau Uncooled Thermal Camera High-Resolution Tau Uncooled Thermal Camera

FLIR's Tau 640 is the world's first commercial 640 × 480 uncooled longwave thermal camera to feature a 17-micron detector. Nearly 25% smaller than previous Tau models, Tau 640 is lightweight, miserly with power, and delivers outstanding thermal imagery.

SPIE DEFENSE, SECURITY & SENSING 2010

This year's show is the result of combining the former SPIE Optics East sensing conference with SPIE Defense and Security conference, strengthening the program to bring together scientists and engineers from industry, military, academia and government agencies from around the world. This year's conference is an opportunity to present research, learn from others and to network with top researchers and companies doing cutting-edge work covering a broad spectrum of commercial and defense applications.

Getting on Track

SPIE Defense, Security & Sensing 2010 has more than 50 courses covering IR sensing and systems, lasers, robotics, homeland security, sensor data, and more. Course registration includes selected courses, course notes, coffee breaks and admittance to the exhibition. Courses are scheduled April 5 to 9, and will include: IR Sensors and Systems; Defense, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement; Imaging and Sensing; Sensing Technologies and Applications; Laser Sensors and Systems; Displays; Unmanned, Robotic, and Layered Systems; Sensor Data and Information Exploitation; Signal, Image, and Neural Net Processing; Information Systems and Networks: Processing, Fusion, and Knowledge Generation; Optical and Optomechanical Engineering; Business + Professional Development

Note schedule change - the date of SC952: Applications of Detection Theory has changed from Tuesday, April 6 to Thursday, April 8, 2010. Please see the individual course listing for more information.

Job Fair

Some of the industry's top companies will be on hand April 6 and 7 to discuss career opportunities for those looking for a better job, re-entering the workforce or just starting out. Many of the posted positions require an active security clearance or the ability to acquire one. Admission is free and registration is required.

While you're there…

Take some time to enjoy Orlando - one of America's most beloved vacation spots. Known best for attractions like Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal, Epcot and MGM studios, Orlando is also home to the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. This 100 acre zoo is home to more than 400 animals, not including the bugs at the Massey Services Insect Zoo. If you're feeling a bit more daring, check out Gatorland - a 110 acre theme park and natural conservancy located in the Florida Everglades. Home to thousands of alligators and crocodiles, visitors can observe them in the breeding marshes, watch some alligator wrestling and can even take adventure tours and learn how to wrangle these enormous creatures yourself, keeping in mind that they have 82 razor sharp teeth. Check out the live web cam, at: www.gatorland.com
