SPIE Optics & Photonics 2010

Optics and photonics meet solar and nanotechnology at SPIE’s Optics + Photonics 2010 conference and exhibition, to be held Aug. 1-5 at the San Diego Convention Center.

» The event will feature four international symposia:

Nanoscience + Engineering – Chaired by David L. Andrews from the University of East Anglia Norwich in England and James G. Grote from the US Air Force Research Lab in Ohio., the topics will include carbon nanotubes, optical trapping, and nanosolar hydrogen, metamaterials and plasmonics.

Solar Energy + Technology – Martha Symko-Davies from the National Renewable Energy Lab in Washington will chair discussions on solar-based energy sources, solar hydrogen, thin films, organic PVs and PV cell technology.

Photonic Devices + Applications – Hear the latest research in IR detectors, OLEDs, organic PVs and solid-state lighting from symposium chair, Zakya Kafafi of the National Science Foundation.

Optical Engineering + Applications – With an impressive 1370 papers, the area of focus will be on the latest research, including optical design, remote sensing, x-ray technologies, and optical systems and illumination engineering.
