Mark A. Kling has been appointed vice president, general counsel and secretary of
Space Imaging, a Denver, Colo., provider of Earth imagery and related services to commercial and government markets. Prior to joining Space Imaging, Kling worked for Qwest Communications, where he managed commercial, corporate, intellectual property and real estate litigation.
. . . Philips Consumer Electronics announced it has signed an agreement with IBM to manage its customer service activities in North America, as part of an overall "business renewal program to increase efficiency and cost productivity." The multi-year agreement, valued at approximately $300 million, is expected to begin in May.
. . . Radiant Imaging and
Lumileds Lighting have announced a cooperative program to facilitate the design process for systems using Lumileds high-brightness LED sources. Under the arrangement, the companies will make Radiant Source models of Lumileds light sources, including the Luxeon line, available for a nominal fee to the illumination design community. Radiant source models are software that describes a light source's angular and spatial luminance characteristics; they are derived from an imaging measurement system and are compatible with most major illumination design software packages.
