Companies Partner in Single-Photon Detection
Id Quantique SA of Geneva, Switzerland, and Becker & Hickl of Berlin have agreed to collaborate in the field of single-photon detection for life sciences applications. Becker & Hickl will add id Quantique's id100-20 single-photon counter for the visible range to its portfolio of detectors. The module is an alternative to microchannel plates and photomultiplier tubes. Both companies will work to provide solutions for applications such as single-molecule spectroscopy and time-resolved confocal microscopy as well as to develop custom single-photon counter arrays.
