OIF Approves Compatibility Pact for 10-Gb/s Modules
Members of the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) in Fremont, Calif., have approved an implementation agreement titled "Interoperability for Long Reach and Extended Reach 10 Gb/s Transponders and Receivers." The agreement specifies a uniform test methodology for the modules based on target ITU-T application codes for suppliers. It was designed to ensure multivendor compatibility when compliant devices are installed in network equipment.
