L-3 to Provide Sensors to French Gendarmerie
Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH, based in Donauwörth, Germany, has selected L-3 Wescam, a subsidiary of L-3 Communications of New York, to provide 12 MX-15i electro-optic infrared imaging sensors to the Gendarmerie nationale of France. The military organization will use the devices on its fleet of EC 135 aircraft to gain rapid situational awareness. Each unit will include a control suite that combines geographical location, pointing, focus and tracking technology. System deliveries are scheduled to begin in December and to continue into 2009. L-3 Wescam operates in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
