Laser Maker Spins Off Solar
Industrial laser maker Laser Photonics has spun off its solar division into a separate entity named Advanced Solar Photonics, the company announced.
Advanced Solar Photonics (ASP), located in Laser Photonics' 318,000-sq-ft facility in Lake Mary, specializes in laser technology and laser products for applications in the solar panel fabrication industry. ASP makes products for solar manufacturing, developing systems for laser marking, scribing, and edge deletion that are applicable to both silicon and thin-film processes.
Founded in 2001, Laser Photonics develops industrial lasers such as fiber and CO
2 laser systems for applications such as marking, cutting, engraving, scribing and other material processes.
