Leoni Fiber Optics Buys RoMack
Leoni Fiber Optics GmbH of Berlin acquired Virginia-based fiber optics maker RoMack for an undisclosed amount this month, the company said Monday. The acquisition was made through Leoni's US subsidiary, FiberTech USA Inc., which is based in Chandler.
RoMack Inc. is located in Williamsburg and specializes in fiber optic systems for the aerospace, optical analysis, medical device and industrial laser markets. The business will remain in its Williamsburg location and will be renamed FiberTech RoMack Inc., Leoni said. RoMack founder and President Matthew Webb and FiberTech President and CEO Dr. Armin Kaus will jointly run the company.
The portfolios of FiberTech, which specializes in medical laser applications, and RoMack, which focuses on fiber optics for research and industrial applications, complement each other, Leoni said, and will be offered in target markets in North and South America.
