Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences
At the Centre for Biophotonics of the Strathclyde Institute of
Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, a new microscope has been built that could provide
breakthroughs for cancer treatment and drug discovery. The microscope uses a less
complex laser system than has previously been available for obtaining crucial detailed
images of cells, tissues and drugs. The instrument will remove the need to add the
toxic fluorescent labeling normally required to see specific areas of interest within
the material.
