Edmund Optics to Kick Off 70th at Photonics West
Edmund Optics Inc. will launch its celebration of 70 years in the optical business at Photonics West, to be held Jan. 21-26 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
To kick off the event, Edmund Optics will showcase some of its favorite optics of the last 70 years, alongside demonstrations of its newest optics, which include a tunable fluorescence microscope demo built completely from off-the-shelf components.
The company will celebrate historical highlights such as the start of its first catalog in 1943, a trip to the moon in 1969 for one of its lenses, and the birth of TechSpec optics in 1984. Other notable milestones include the introduction of telecentric lenses in 1999, magneto-rheological finishing technology in 2004, and winning the Prism Award for its TechSpec plastic hybrid aspheric lenses in 2011.
