B&W Tek Marks 15 Years
Optical spectroscopy and laser systems provider B&W Tek Inc. is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the photonics industry.
Established as a green laser manufacturer in January 1997, the company has grown into a total solutions provider for spectroscopy applications.
B&W Tek’s key components are designed and manufactured in-house, allowing OEM customers to take an assortment of its ready-to-use, off-the-shelf modular products to create their own solutions.
By coupling these core technologies, such as lasers, fiber optic spectrometers, Raman systems, software and accessories, with custom design and manufacturing capabilities, the company has used its renewed focus on total solutions to break into dozens of industries outside of photonics.
In 2011, in an effort to share this knowledge and expertise with the academic community, B&W Tek launched the New Horizons academic partnership program to support scientists performing cutting-edge research. Based on the program’s early success, the company is developing plans to expand on it in 2012 and beyond.
