UTC Completes Goodrich Deal
United Technologies Corp.'s acquisition of Goodrich Corp. is complete, strengthening UTC's position in the commercial aerospace industry.
The newly acquired company will be combined with Hamilton Sundstrand to create UTC Aerospace Systems, which will be based in Charlotte. Alain Bellemare was appointed president and CEO of UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems, effective immediately. He will be responsible for the UTC Aerospace Systems and Pratt & Whitney businesses.
Marshall Larsen, Goodrich’s former chairman and CEO, will join UTC’s board of directors in mid-September.
“The addition of Goodrich, along with our recent acquisition of a majority share in International Aero Engines, greatly advances our strategy of focusing on our core businesses and strengthens our position in the growing commercial aerospace market,” said Louis Chenevert, UTC chairman and CEO.
