Deal Adds Software to Coherent Laser Cutting Machine
The proprietary software of SigmaTek Systems LLC of Cincinnati will be offered by Coherent Inc. for its Meta platform of laser cutting machines, the companies announced Monday.
The SigmaNEST CAD/CAM software, which is designed to enhance material utilization and part quality, will make the integrated laser machine tool easier and more efficient, Coherent said. The system is suitable for plasma, laser, tube/pipe, water-jet and combination cutting machines, among others.
“This agreement brings together SigmaTek’s unique software expertise with Coherent laser machining technology to effectively minimize the software setup needed for our CAD-to-Cut solution initiative,” said Larry Dibattista, Coherent Laser Machine Tool general manager.
