Zecotek Develops 3-D Printing Interface for Commercial Applications
Zecotek Photonics Inc.’s subsidiary Zecotek Display Systems Ltd. aims to bridge the gap between current and future generations of photonic 3-D display technology with its design of a new interface platform.
The new 3-D printing platform, used with Zecotek’s existing 3-D display technology, offers significant design, cost and time advantages. The glasses-free, auto-stereoscopic, multiview, high-definition 3-D display is used with commercial 3-D printers and for the creation of solid objects used in rapid and manufacturing prototyping.
“By creating a user interface between the 3-D printer and our own patented 3-D display, we offer end users the most realistic view of the solid object being created on the printer,” said A.F. Zerrouk, chairman, president and CEO of Zecotek Photonics.
With the new interface, he added, individual or multiple users will have the ability to view the object in full 3-D from all perspectives, and to edit the object as desired. It will offer various interactive features as well as the ability to see true 3-D images during the design process.
Zecotek Display Systems will initially subcontract the production of the 3-D display units interfaced with the 3-D printers and associated software for sale. Subsequent mass production and sales will be done through a strategic partnership.
