Alcon to Use Google(x) Smart Lens Technology
Alcon, Novartis AG’s eye care division, will collaborate with Google(x) to develop a smart lens that involves noninvasive sensors, microchips and other miniaturized electronics that are embedded within contact lenses.
Alcon will use this technology to help diabetic patients manage their disease via a continuous, minimally invasive measurement of the body’s glucose level, as well as to correct presbyopia (blurred vision).
