Strong Photonics Sales Can’t Counteract Intevac 3Q Loss
Despite strong sales figures from its photonics segment, Intevac Inc. reported a net loss of $3.8 million in the third quarter.
As hard-drive revenues flagged, photonics revenues were $11.4 million, representing 77 percent of the company’s overall third-quarter revenue figure, $14.8 million. Photonics revenues were $7.4 million in the third quarter of 2013.
Intevac reported a net loss of 2.7 million in the third quarter of 2013.
The company’s photonics segment develops digital sensors, cameras and night vision systems that primarily serve the defense industry.
