Trumpf Sales, Orders Climb 5%
Sales and orders increased by approximately 5 percent in the last fiscal year at Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG.
The company said its preliminary calculations showed total sales of €2.723 billion (about $3.02 billion), compared to €2.584 billion in fiscal 2014. Order intake was €2.825 billion (about $3.13 billion), up from €2.7 billion in fiscal 2014.
"We're especially pleased that we've been able to compensate in both indicators for the discontinuation of our medical technology division in the first year after the sale, and in a generally difficult market environment as well," said President Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller.
Trumpf sold its medical technology division to Hill-Rom Holdings Inc. last August. The division contributed €185 million worth of sales in fiscal 2014.
Meanwhile, Trumpf recently acquired EHT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH of Teningen, Germany, and JK Lasers Ltd. of Rugby, England, and said it strengthened its market position in Eastern Europe and Turkey.
Final result from fiscal 2015, including profits, will be presented Oct. 22.
