Syntec Optics Moves to Rochester
Advanced manufacturing company Syntec Optics has moved into three facilities in Rochester, N.Y.
“Syntec Optics is making American manufacturing globally competitive again,” said Al Kapoor, founder of Syntec. “The move enables global customers to now benefit from a vertically integrated supply chain and quicker product development cycles.”
Renovation and development of a >85,000 sq-ft, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, built on more than seven acres of land, allowed the co-location of Syntec’s polymer optics and optics assembly division with its optical mold, diamond turning optics, and optical coating division. Wordingham Technologies, Syntec's affiliated optomechanicals division, is also co-located at the facility. Offerings from all divisions can now be combined at the same location to make plastic optics assemblies for the full light spectrum.
“The consolidation has created powerful synergies for our cross-functional talent,” said Steven Polvinen, president of Syntec Optics. “This combined capability allows us to quickly assess and solve incredible difficult problems, creatively under one roof.”
