Industry Newcomer DustPhotonics Announces Offerings

A new optical transceiver technology company, DustPhotonics Inc., has been formed to address optical communication with high bandwidth demand.

The company will focus on lower-cost, higher-bandwidth applications in cloud, datacenter, high-performance computing and enterprise networks. DustPhotonics is partnering with data center infrastructure companies to deliver short- to mid-range optical connectivity. Products are designed for all standard optical form factors at data rates of 25 to 400 Gbps. The company says it is currently increasing production of 400-Gbps QSFPDD-SR8 and OSFP-SR8 modules.

"With optical transceivers now in ever-increasing demand and with the limitations of copper interconnects, optical technology has clearly reached the tipping point,” said said Ben Rubovitch, CEO of DustPhotonics. “We are only at the beginning of ever-increasing demand for high-speed optical interconnect. DustPhotonics is pleased to support the worldwide optical design initiative through our commitment to manufacturing open and innovative optical networking products that enable a dynamic, reliable, bandwidth-rich data center."

In addition to its Israel headquarters, DustPhotonics will also have offices in Cupertino, California.
