Quantum Computing Inc. to Acquire QPhoton
Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire QPhoton. The two companies entered a business partnership in February, including an exclusive marketing agreement. The companies had been working together to merge QCI’s quantum software solution Qatalyst with QPhoton’s advanced photonics quantum technologies for applications in QCI’s specific solutions.
The acquisition serves to extend QCI’s offerings and accelerate the accessibility of quantum computing and other technologies into deployable solutions, and it makes QCI a full-spectrum quantum software and hardware company.
QPhoton will be a wholly owned subsidiary of QCI, and QPhoton CEO Yuping Huang is expected to join QCI as a director and officer. The transaction is expected to close during the third or fourth quarter of 2022 and is subject to customary and other closing conditions.
