Global Crossing Receives License to Operate in Venezuela
CARACAS, Venezuela, March 12 -- La Comision Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel) has issued Global Crossing a license to operate in Venezuela. Global Crossing plans to complete the connection of Venezuela to its worldwide fiber optic network and begin offering services in the country in May.
"Our seamless global network will provide Venezuela with unprecedented levels of connectivity, facilitating faster, more reliable communications and a host of service options," said Jose Antonio Rios, president of Global Crossing Latin America. "We look forward to providing telecommunications carriers and multinational businesses with cutting-edge services and access to the only truly global IP-based fiber network in the world."
