Coherence Tomography: Principles and Applications is for nonphysical scientists,
presenting the basic physics and mathematics used in this high-resolution imaging
technique. The second section covers the physics and engineering of the technology,
including the theoretical derivation of axial and lateral resolution generated
with it. Among the topics discussed are photon entanglement, phase analysis, digital
image processing techniques, dispersion analysis for tissue characterization, and
the comparison of single- and dual-detector polarization-sensitive techniques. The
last section details application to clinical imaging, covering oncology, cardiovascular
medicine and musculoskeletal disease. Competing technologies are considered.
