Nano-optics guide
Principles of Nano-Optics provides an overview
of the theoretical and experimental concepts of the field. Optical phenomena relevant
to the nanoscale in areas ranging from quantum optics to biophysics are covered
in the 556-page resource, which addresses optical microscopy, quantum emitters,
surface plasmons, photonic crystals and resonators, near-field optical probes, probe-sample
distance control, and propagation and focusing of optical fields. Targeted to graduate
students, the volume also discusses dipole emission near planar interfaces, spatial
resolution and position accuracy, and light emission and optical interactions in
nanoscale environments. Problem sets, charts, diagrams, references and appendices
are included. Lukas Novotny and Bert Hecht; Cambridge University Press, UK, 2006;
