Microarray research
The spring 2006 issue of the quarterly review
Affymetrix Microarray Bulletin focuses on advances in cancer research. Published
by !%Affymetrix Inc.%!, the downloadable 27-page document features an article on how
technologies such as siRNA and exon arrays, and tissue and genotyping microarrays
were used to create a diagnostic signature for rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer.
It includes a work-flow diagram on the diagnosis and prognosis of sarcomas using
gene expression and DNA polymorphism profiling. The use of gene expression profiles
to select the best chemotherapy regimens for individual breast cancer patients is
discussed in another article.
